Last Wednesday the first day of the rest of my life. To some people, a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia would be quite upsetting. I was filled with gratitude. I have had health concerns for some time which I have chosen to discuss privately with a few individuals, but have decided to keep out of a public forum. Now, I finally understand what has ailed me. It certainly could have been worse – Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, White Blood Cell issues… therefore, I am grateful for the conclusion that the evidence has presented. After my extremely restrictive diet over the past several months, I have decided to ease up on myself over the next few days in terms of my eating, but the raw regimen is now so ingrained in me that I believe it is THE WAY for me to continue to go, especially in light of my challenges. Raw Food + Yoga + Light Martial Arts + Meditation.

It appears I’ve chosen my theme for my upcoming year as Guelph Area Governor for Toastmasters: Balanced Creativity[*]. I’m the Table Topics Master tonight, therefore I’m bringing in my yoga cards and I’m really going to encourage everyone to think outside the box.
[*] – now updated to be Creative Achievement

What would happen if I combined yoga and Toastmasters?

A very interesting Table Topics session, I imagine. When it comes to success, I fully embrace creativity. Thinking outside of the box goes part of the distance, but why not score a home run and think outside the entire ball park? The “same old” yields the same old results… they may be good, but I’d rather strive for excellence. I don’t consider myself average, and my actions reflect this! Instead of breeding complacency and comfort, I intend to keep it FLUID, REAL, and IMAGINATIVE. Perhaps I will sign up for Table Topics master this week!

… in a domestic sense…
Karma yoga consists of entirely selfless service, in which the Ego is given up to the desire to serve God in every thing, be it man, animal or plant. Karma Yoga is also the path of doing the right thing, of following ones’ personal Dharma and accepting destiny as it comes. If the Karma Yogi is a householder, he will accept that role as much as he would accept the role of a servant to any in need, without seeking any remuneration in the shape of wealth, satisfaction, name or fame.
Do I expect anything? More often than not, I am not even looking for/or expecting a “Thank you”. It’s not that I WANT to be taken advantage of or for granted; rather, my primary motivator is something completely different altogether. It’s because I CAN.
