Hot and Hairy

Having gotten over my dislike of the idea of hot yoga, I am presented with a challenge: my legs. After my painful awakening to disability with fibromyalgia this summer past, I decided there was no point in shaving legs that were bruised, unsightly, and non-functional. Now, 6 months later, I have realized that I AM A HIPPIE.[*]

My Room of Tranquility

I am slowly developing my room of tranquility, an oasis of peace within this house of chaos.

  • sauna
  • my new singing bowl
  • yoga books and supplies
  • inspirational reading and divination decks
  • cushions everywhere to laze upon

By the end of the month of September, when I am working again, this will truly be my sanctuary.

Karma Yoga

… in a domestic sense…

Karma yoga consists of entirely selfless service, in which the Ego is given up to the desire to serve God in every thing, be it man, animal or plant. Karma Yoga is also the path of doing the right thing, of following ones’ personal Dharma and accepting destiny as it comes. If the Karma Yogi is a householder, he will accept that role as much as he would accept the role of a servant to any in need, without seeking any remuneration in the shape of wealth, satisfaction, name or fame.


Do I expect anything? More often than not, I am not even looking for/or expecting a “Thank you”. It’s not that I WANT to be taken advantage of or for granted; rather, my primary motivator is something completely different altogether. It’s because I CAN.
