Searching for Solutions
Monday, June 28th, 2010Last Wednesday the first day of the rest of my life. To some people, a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia would be quite upsetting. I was filled with gratitude. I have had health concerns for some time which I have chosen to discuss privately with a few individuals, but have decided to keep out of a public forum. Now, I finally understand what has ailed me. It certainly could have been worse – Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, White Blood Cell issues… therefore, I am grateful for the conclusion that the evidence has presented. After my extremely restrictive diet over the past several months, I have decided to ease up on myself over the next few days in terms of my eating, but the raw regimen is now so ingrained in me that I believe it is THE WAY for me to continue to go, especially in light of my challenges. Raw Food + Yoga + Light Martial Arts + Meditation.

Ready for Green Yoga
Friday, March 13th, 2009It’s something of a miracle to get a web site up in 2 days, but I think my green yoga is at an acceptable stage of “readiness” for me to actually start planning some events!
My Green Yoga
Wednesday, March 11th, 2009Everything these days is green – it’s definitely the catch phrase of this decade – green, eco, earth-friendly, people-friendly. I am often challenged to treat my body with the respect and integrity that it deserves, both with my diet and my lifestyle choices. Having the support of like-minded individuals would be a wonderful thing, and making a community event of it would be even better. Yesterday, My Green Yoga was born. Once or twice a month, I’m planning to host an evening of yoga, raw foods/juices, and perhaps an inspirational movie.
I haven’t delved too much into the details of the project yet, but I am considering the following:
- A community events calendar
- Juicing recipes
- An Amazon shop of my favourite yoga books and music
- Links to other yogis
- Links to other green/eco-friendly resources
Detox My Life
Wednesday, February 11th, 2009I need to detox my life and be cautious of where I put my energy because there is only a limited supply. If I could have any super power, it would be to forgo sleep. Sadly, this is not yet possible!

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009Reversing Heart Disease
Monday, February 2nd, 2009| On my flight from Orange County to Chicago today, I decided to give Reversing Heart Disease another read, or more appropriately, a “real” read. No skimming, no content skipping, no speed reading. If there has ever been a case for eliminating toxic emotions, reducing stress, eating a low-fat vegetarian diet, and maintaining an active lifestyle, Dr. Dean Ornish makes it in an engaging yet scientific study. The case studies are poignant, the information is factual, and I feel as though I now have an additional tool in my literary kit to refer to people having challenges. I am not a proponent of every quack cure or healing modality, but I am a big fan of medical doctors that think outside of the box and are willing to take chances on the greater good. Ornish is one of these doctors. |
